About the Sassy Sherni

Hi! I’m Sargam. Welcome to this little part of my world. I’m Indian-born, NJ raised and NYC adopted. I have a passion for everything beauty, fashion, food, and travel. Things I love: being a foodie, shopping for stuff I don’t need, eating cupcakes, meeting new people, avidly instagramming, reading/writing, yelping restaurants, exploring NYC, watching unhealthy amounts of TV & movies, engaging in witty banter, being an aggressive grammarista, adventurously globe-trotting, being a music junkie, drinking copious amounts of soda, and spending all my money at Sephora. I always appreciate a good sense of humor, a little bit of sarcasm, a whole lot of common sense and an insane amount of sass.

People often ask me where “Sassy Sherni” derived from. Sassy Sherni literally translates to “Sassy Lioness.” Growing up, I’ve always been sassy (sometimes too much for my own good) and quite fierce about my opinions and stances on many issues. The word “lioness” also ties in with that and resembles my astrological sign, Leo – which I very much relate with.

I’ve grown up with a deep love for fashion, makeup and food thanks to my parents. Both of them instilled creativity in me from a very young age. I learned beauty, skin care, fashion and cooking by watching my mom, who’s my ultimate icon! My dad, on the other hand, gave me his love for eating good food and all things bollywood. I’m a proud Indian-American, so many times you’ll see a lot of culture incorporated into my posts and see me talking about the best (and sometimes worst) of both worlds.

I’m so excited to finally be able to share my knowledge, opinions and passion with you wonderful people. Thanks for riding this rollercoaster with me.

Please feel free to email or instagram me anytime. I’d love nothing more than to connect with you!
